Long & Toasty

The first of my 16 unfinished projects is done and warm and lovely.

Pattern: toasty by Leslie Friend
Yarn: Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool in color 46
Needles: 4 mm
Started: August 2009
Finished: August 18, 2013

In other knitting, the front of my Green Lantern sweater is so close to done.

I can see the emblem’s a little wonky now that it’s done. I’m going to try some duplicate stitch to fix my mistakes before I knit any further. If that looks less than awesome, I’ll have to rip back and reknit this section. I’m not exactly looking forward to managing all those strands again but I think any mistakes in the emblem will just bug me too much if I leave them in.

  1. I really need to give some attention to my pile of WIPs. It’d be nice to empty that basket before the beginning of 2014, you know, clean slates and all. But, I’m not holding my breath.

I’m trying to keep how tiny our new apartment is in mind and use that as motivation to clear out the unfinished projects. Because if I can knit through this much yarn by October, I can probably get rid of one yarn storage container. And, my god, that would give us so much space!

That being said, I’m a knitter and I will probably get Xmas money, and, I mean, we all know how well my dreams are likely to end.

Thanks! Thank god for the high A/C setting because I haven’t wanted to take them off since I finished! Also this sweater is maybe going to be the greatest thing I’ve ever made when it’s done — so close too!
